Enrico "Rico" Roncancio
Enrico Roncancio started coaching youth soccer in 1979 and a strength & conditioning coach in 1998. Since that time Coach Roncancio has coached recreational, traveling and high school teams. He has served as the assistant girls and boys coach at Springfield High School for 12 years and has worked as the strength coach for the Springfield Jr. Blues, the UIS Women’s Soccer Team and the UIS Women’s Volleyball Team.
Over the last 8-years since they have been open ER Fitness Inc. has been the go to sports performance gym for speed. Coach Roncancio has done speed clinics for local football, baseball and soccer teams. In addition, the gym has 6 state track champions and 12 All-State players in their respective sports. He is a retired Captain from the Springfield Fire Department and designed the first strength & conditioning program for rookies coming into the SFD.
A 1979 graduate of Western Illinois University he has a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and is certified in the following as a Sports Performance Coach:

In September of 2020, Rico retired from ER Fitness Inc., and handed his business over to Drake Berberet, Brian McNeil, & Robbie Kelley. Rico now spends his time between Phoenix, AZ and Springfield, IL. When he is back in town you can find him helping out when he can at the gym he founded.
